Motion in the name of Councillor Deirdre Heney That the manager please, in relation the huge sand bags located along the Clontarf seafront outline (a) the reason why these bags are located there (b) the reason no agreement can be reached with management to relocate the storage of same to an offside location (c) refer to a previous commitment that these bags would be located on the seafront from October to March each year and then removed to an alternate location (d) why it is expected that such unsightly bags be located on our beautiful seafront all year round and (e) arrange for the relocation of the bags this year.

Motion in the name of Councillor Deirdre Heney In relation to the growing difficulties with parking on Mount Prospect Avenue, (particularly along the stretch between the junctions from Baymount Park to Park Lawn) which is at times, leading to a complete standstill in traffic movement, that the City Council examine the problem with a view to providing a solution to regularise the parking practices of persons accessing St. Anne’s Park, in order to;
(1) allow the bus route to continue normal operations, and (2) allow residents at this location access and egress their driveways
as the situation is going to worsen with the onset of summer.

Emergency Motion Minutes: Acknowledging the very serious incident involving a scrambler-type bike in Darndale park on Saturday June 9th that resulted in one man being left in a critical condition in hospital, recognizing also that the issue of scrambler bikes and quad bikes in the park and surrounding estates has been a recurring problem for a number of years, this area committee calls on the area manager to do the following:
- convene a meeting with personnel from the parks department, the area office’s community section, community representatives and elected members to explore potential solutions aimed at restricting access for these bikes to this and other parks in the North Central area;
- engage with locals in the North Central area who have a genuine interest in and passion for motocross to explore ways of eliminating the use of scrambler and quad bikes in our public parks and residential estates. -- Dublin City Councillor
Order: Refer to North Central Area JPC
