That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to take a Judicial review of An Bord Pleanala decision ABP-300559-18 under the provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2000,as amended.

 

Report:
           

The City Planner and the Law Agent  have been asked, as a matter of urgency, to consider the implications of the recent decision of An Bord Pleanála in relation to the proposed housing development adjacent to St Anne’s Park Raheny (APB-300559-18) and the potential for any action by the Council. Councillors will be advised on the matter as soon as the City Planner and Law Agent have completed their reports.

We are calling on the Government to.

 Update Rebuilding Ireland to reflect the needs of an ageing Ireland and to provide funding towards developing a new, age-friendly model of housing. Engage with Alone and its Partners in the age Alliance to meet the commitments outlined in the National Positive Ageing Strategy since 2013.

To provide more public housing for older people requiring varying levels of support.

To bring forward legislation to implement long-term leases.

To return grant funding for housing adaptations to 2010 levels.

That this area committee
- notes the recurring problem of joyridden cars accessing the green area between Clonshaugh Drive, Moatview Court and Moatview Drive

- further notes that the current measures to secure this green area, namely boulders has proven inadequate

- calls on Dublin City Council to take additional special measures to secure the green which can include partially sinking the boulders or cementing them in place.

That this area committee notes the online petition that has been established by parents and grandparents in the vicinity of Rockfield for the establishment of a playground on the unused tarmaced area of the park and supports them in their campaign.

Motion in the name of Councillor Deirdre Heney

That efforts be made to resolve the problem of parking in Croydon Gardens, Marino, in the area surrounding the inner part of the upper circle where vehicles are parked on days when football matches are being played on the green, thus causing a problem for other road users, particularly Dublin Bus.

Motion in the name of Councillor Deirdre Heney

That full details of the reason for the proposed new community/neighbourhood centre to be built at Thornville Drive, Kilbarrack, be outlined as local residents are concerned and distressed that this community facility is not being rebuild on its current site at Greendale Road as they feel Thornville Drive is completely inappropriate for same and feel the new proposed Kilbarrack community centre rebuilt on the existing site on Greendale Road where there is no adjoining houses plenty of car parking in the local.

This Area Committee calls on Dublin City Council and the North Central Area office to use all the powers and means at its disposal to ensure that the Edenmore Boxing Club is provided with new premises as part of the development of the new Primary Care Centre on the Tonlegee Road.

This Area Committee recognises the professional and personal efforts made by both City Council staff and local residents, alongside the City Council's financial investment, in transforming Darndale Park into a positive and welcoming public space, and calls for the Darndale Park Renewal Project meetings to be scheduled one hour before all Safer Belcamp, Darndale, Moatview Forum meetings.
