The following Emergency Motions to the Area Managers were tabled.
That Bartra withdraw its roads closure signage erected at the entrance to Montpelier Avenue/Close and abide by the Consultative procedures agreed with Dublin City Council and the local community.
ORDER: Agreed.
That the Area Committee is provided with a further comprehensive update by the Waste Management Section detailing the steps being taken to ensure the wishes of this Committee are honoured in the continued provision of recycling services as currently in situ at the Grangegorman Bring Centre in the Dublin 7 area and that no break in service provision be permitted while a new location is secured.
ORDER: Agreed.
That the Area Committee requests a full report from the Parks Department as to the holding of concerts this coming June in Fairview Park; what conditions have been attached to the permission for these concerns; what mitigation measures have been determined upon for implementation to address the issues and concerns raised by North Strand residents at the time of the concerts last summer and to outline the approvals process sought for these concerts. ORDER: Agreed.
The following motions to the Area Managers were tabled.
Item 1
That the City Council shall prepare a regeneration proposal to refurbish the former Married Quarters Building on Infirmary Road as an Arts/Community building. This proposal shall include architectural and engineering drawings as well as funding proposals and shall revert to this committee on progress every quarter.
ORDER: Deferred.
Item 2
That Dublin City Council invite Dublin Port to make a presentation to the Area Committee on its new plans for developing the Port 3FM Project as Dublin Port is such an important part of the economy of the City and the country.
ORDER: Withdrawn.
Item 3
That this committee asks the Area Manager to put in place a procedure whereby when a tenant is signing for a DCC unit they should also be facilitated in transferring their previous voting registration (if applicable) to their new housing unit. ORDER: Agreed.
Item 4
That this committee request a report on the amount of funding provided by DCC to the St. Patrick's festival directly (grants) and indirectly (cleaning etc.) and to include the current consultation process, process between the festival committee/organisers, DCC (including the Central Area) and the general public.
