That this Committee agree that a Traffic Management Plan is required for East Wall and that the plan should be in place as soon as possible.

That this Committee agrees that in the event of noisy road works taking place at night in residential areas that at least 24 hours notice or preferably 7 days notice be given by way of a flyer circulated to the affected residents with a mobile contact number for the person in charge of works.

That this Committee requests that the Area Manager convene an extraordinary meeting of the Central Area Committee to discuss outstanding Traffic Advisory Group issues. Such a meeting would take place with all relevant Traffic and Engineering staff present and would make good use of overhead projection of Google Streetview so that outstanding requests could be quickly prioritised and resolved.

That this Committee requests the Manager to have the cycle lanes on North Circular Road, Portland Row and Seville Place examined for safety and maintenance requirements and that appropriate remedial action be taken and that the Gardaí be requested to enforce existing parking restrictions on these cycle lanes.

That this Committee receives an update report on the following motion passed in my name at the June 2016 meeting of the Central Area Committee. “That this Committee agrees to propose the name change of King Street, Dublin 7 to a more suitable name given the fact that a plaque was erected last month to commemorate the 16 local people who were killed there in 1916.” ORDER: Report to Councillor

That the Central Area Committee fully endorses all recommendations of the Citizens’ Assembly, including: Its recommendation that terminations should be allowed without restriction up to the 12th week of pregnancy Its recommendation that terminations should be allowed due to “socio-economic reasons” up to the 22nd week of pregnancy Its recommendation that in cases of fatal foetal abnormality abortion be permitted during any period of the pregnancy and agrees to write to the Minister for Justice requesting that a date be announced for a referendum to facilitate the passage of legislation on the matter. ORDER: Motion fell.

This Committee calls on Dublin City Council to initiate proceedings to acquire by Compulsory Order lands at St. Vincent’s Hospital, in order to facilitate the establishment of a fully independent, secular National Maternity Hospital on that site. ORDER: Motion fell.
