That the Central Area Committee calls upon the Executive to implement a suite of short-term measures to address the illegal and often dangerous parking as well as speeding vehicles along Montpelier Hill, Drive, Gardens and Park, Dublin 7 in the same way as the former Area Committee sought to address similar issues in the East Wall area.  Furthermore we seek to have a longer-term traffic management plan established for the Montpelier, Infirmary Road and O’Devaney Gardens area and until that is in place we seek to ensure that a suite of shorter term measures are in situ by July 31st next.

We call on the Manager to write to the Garda Commissioner, the Garda Traffic Core and the Court Services to ask for their co-operation in this matter.

This committee, in its support for the campaign for Respect and Loyalty, calls on the Government to immediately take action to resolve the issues relating to the pay and conditions of service of Defence Forces Members as they are seriously impacting retention and recruitment.
