The following Emergency Motion was tabled.

 

Emergency Motion in the name of Councillors Nial Ring,  Christy Burke, Ray McAdam, Gaye Fagan

 

That this Committee recognises the huge contribution of CLG Na Fianna to our neighbouring local communities of Drumcondra, Glasnevin, Mobhí Road etc. and, in recognising this contribution, we further request the Area Manager to write to the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, urging him to instruct Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to reconsider and abandon the plan to locate the proposed Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Depot at CLG Na Fianna, Mobhí Road, Glasnevin for the period of the building of the Dublin Metrolink.

 

ORDER: Agreed. Letter to be sent  to the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport.

 

 

Motion in the name of Councillor Christy Burke

 

That the Central Area Committee considers the de-tenanting of the apartment block in Sheriff Street (No. 51 – 52 Sheriff Street) and that discussions take place to relocate the crèche in this building.

ORDER: Report to Councillor.

                 

Motion in the name of Councillor Gary Gannon

 

That the Central Area Committee considers using the remainder of the Safer Cities allocation from the discretionary budget 2017, that was unspent, to improve street lighting on the routes into East Wall that are not suitable well lit.

ORDER: Motion fell.

 

Motion in the name of Councillor Ciaran Cuffe

 

That the City Architect prepare plans for the construction of a mixed-use development of housing over retail on the Council owned site at the corner of Ryder’s Row and Capel Street.

ORDER: Motion deferred until next month.
