Draft Gift Policy pdf icon PDF 150 KB

Minutes:

The Members recognised that this policy was limited in scope to gifts that impact on the public realm as the Libraries and Archive have their own policies regarding gifts, loans and donations.

Cllr. Flynn suggested that all gift offers relating to the public realm should come before the Protocol Committee for approval. He also suggested that the policy should be extended to include the offer of loans from other institutions.

Cllr. Lacy recommended that gifts offered by visiting Heads of State should be accepted in principle before coming to the Protocol Committee for final approval.

 

Order: It was agreed that Members would review the policy and forward their comments to the Manager for inclusion in a second draft that would be brought before the Committee.

6.

Visit of an tArdmhéara to Palestine April 2018 pdf icon PDF 147 KB

Minutes:

The Members thanked the Lord Mayor for his report. ThetArdmhéara reported his disappointment that Maurice Cohen of the Jewish Representative Council in Ireland had failed to contact him in relation to his allegation of anti-Semitism by the tArdmhéara.

The Institute of Professional Training: “Local Electoral Area Boundary Commission”. 6th – 8th July 2018. Silver Tassie Hotel, County Donegal.

Order:

·        Attendance at the Institute of Professional Training: “Local Electoral Area Boundary Commission”, 6th – 8th July 2018 was not approved.

 

·        Attendance at the MacGill Summer School Sunday, Glenties, County Donegal. July 22nd – Friday July 27th, 2018 was approved and recommended to Council.

Managers Report

Minutes:

·        The Manager confirmed that GDPR training would take place in the Council Chamber prior to the Annual Council Meeting on 25th June 2018. The training would be recorded and made available to any Councillor who could not attend.

 

·        The Manager suggested that a survey of the Members take place over the summer in regards the relevance of their Membership of outside bodes.

The Manager informed Members that the next meeting of the Protocol Committee would involve a site visit to the Rates Office to review proposals for new accommodation for Councillors.
