Darndale Social & Economic Update Dympna Mc Cann Verbal Update Minutes: Order: Update given by Dympna Mc Cann. It as agreed that Dympna will forward a copy of the Implementation Oversight Group (IOG) annual report to all Councillors in the coming days along with list of all dates/times of Garda Clinics and the flyer for the Another Way 5k which takes place on 30th April 2022. Councillors Lyons, Butler T Flanagan all thanked Derek, Dympna, Jack Nolan & the community on this project & welcomed the extra Garda presence in the area. Councillor O’Toole mentioned the illegal dump which he feels is falling behind and not happening. |

CCTV Derek Farrell verbal update Minutes: Order: Derek Farrell advised that Dublin City Council are continuing to liaise with An Garda Siochana in relation to CCTV and advised that they were working on repair and maintenance of the 11 cameras in situ at present but that in the future there will be a need to secure extra Capital funding to add cameras to the Belcamp & Moatview areas. |

Minutes: Order: An Garda Síochána discussed the statistics for DMR North. Councillor O’Muiri asked that the report on Collinswood/Thornwood be sent to him, Superintendent Kennedy advised Councillor is would chase this up. Patrick Smyth thanked the Gardai on their help in relation to issues in a complex. Councillor Heney asked if An Garda Siochana were aware of Dublin City Council’s Animal Welfare Section, Superintendent Barry advised that they are all well aware of this unit. Superintendent Barry advised the Lord Mayor Councillor Gilliland that there are a number of headings under the schools programme and Gardai can when asked go back to a school to cover different headings as requested. Councillor Butler asked would the increased Gardai in Darndale be there indefinitely, Superintendent Barry advised that Darndale will continue to be a priority. Councillor Lyons raised the issue of ELSA security losing contract with Dublin City Council and Superintendent Barry advised that he would chat with Councillor about this following meeting. Councillor Roe raised concerns in relation to St.Patricks Juvenile Detention Centre being closed and if this was having an impact on the number of convictions and spaces available. It was agreed that a member of the Juvenile unit would attend the next JPC meeting to give a presentation & included in this will be figures following closure of St.Patrick’s. |
