Darndale Social & Economic Update Minutes: Order: Derek Farrell gave a presentation on behalf of Ms. Dympna McCann with regards to Implementation Oversight Group (IOG) Improvements in Darndale. Karl Mitchell said that the overview plan based on information received was to deal with drug dealing/scramblers, illegal dumping & anti-social behaviour. Report will be issued to members on this. |

Minutes: Order: DMR North Reports given and discussed by an Garda Siochana. Following on from Councillor Heney’s question in relation to what else can be done to eliminate/reduce personal assaults it was noted that a pilot scheme is in operation in DCU with students & staff were a certain number on a mobile device is pressed if a person feels they are in a dangerous situation this is connected to a GPS warning system which is manned in the campus. It is worldwide & not just connected to the campus area. |

Darndale CCTV Minutes: Order: Karl Mitchell advised the committee that DCC and an Garda Siochana are reviewing CCTV protocols and already up and running projects to ensure the best solution for all areas. Agreed this item to be kept on the Agenda. |

Minutes: Order: As requested by Cllr. Brabazon the new Garda station proposed for Northern Cross is to be kept on the agenda. Agreed that this committee write a constructive letter to the Dept. Of Taoiseach & Minister of Justice/Drugs on the Citizen Assembly on Drugs as per Deputy O’Riordan. Agreed that Superintendent McCarthy will report back to Councillor O’Muiri on incidents/reports and what engagement was had with Tuath Housing in relation to Collinswood/Thornwood. |
