Special Committee on Homelessness The following aspects of the report were discussed; Lord Mayor updated group on the following; · Amendment to the Terms of Reference for the Special Committee · National Quality Standards Framework · Experience of women accessing emergency accommodation · Dual Diagnosis/ Addiction/ Detox Bed availability · Support Case management · Homelessness context within the Housing For All Plan · Scheme of Lettings – Band Priority Agreed : Report Noted. Agreed : Scheme of Lettings priorities report shall be circulated to Councilors.
iv. Oversight Committee on Animal Welfare Issues Members acknowledged Cllr Heney’s commitment and contribution to the Committee. The following aspects of the report were discussed; · Alternative arrangements for the provision of Dog Shelter service · A new Animal Welfare Unit page is currently being designed for inclusion on Dublincity.ie. The page will be fully accessible. · Dog Warden Service · Increasing levels of dogs being abandoned

Agreed : Write to Minister for Housing to attend a meeting of the S.P.C. to discuss the government’s new strategy (Housing For All) and how it may impact on the Housing and Homelessness situation in Dublin City and the proposed Oscar Traynor Road development.

Action : An invitation to attend a Workshop was extended by the Planning Department to all Councillors to discuss the Housing Strategy element within the new Development Plan. This workshop will be hosted by the Planning Department and will be held on 23rd September.at 2.30pm via Zoom.
