Presentation on the Dublin City Archives - Lorraine McLoughlin, Dublin City Archivist Additional documents: Minutes: Action: Lorraine McLoughlin, Dublin City Archivist, gave a presentation to the members on Dublin City Archives, the history of the office, the work done by the Archive Team who are based in Dublin City Libraries and the challenges of the work including digital preservation. The members thanked the City Archivist for her presentation and for the ongoing work done by the team.

Motion submitted in the name of Cllr Mícheál MacDonncha, "This SPC deplores the actions of groups who have targeted Dublin City Libraries and have sought to put pressure on staff and the library service generally not to stock books which do not meet these groups' approval. We reject such attempts at censorship and we extend our full support to library staff and Dublin City Libraries in its policy of inclusiveness and diversity in its range of books and other media." Motion submitted in the name of Cllr Deirdre Heney "To help sustain a healthy and vibrant outdoor environment and taking into account our "Leave No Trace" policy on Bull Island and in our ongoing aim to protect the Island, this committee calls on the Manager to ensure that any event licences issued by Dublin City Council for permission to use of the Island, shall have as part of the conditions of such licence, a stipulation that: (a) a clean up must occur immediately after the event ceases; (b) no plastic bottles/containers shall be handed out/or dropped on the biosphere or the Island and that failure to comply with these conditions shall lead to loss of licence for future use of Bull Island." It was also agreed that organisers who have already received permission for their events will be contacted and made aware of the wording of the motion and asked not to hand out plastic bottles.

Motion submitted in the name of Cllr Darragh Moriarty "That the Arts, Culture & Recreation SPC requests DCC Parks Department to commission a comparative analysis of access to 'greenery' per population across DCC's Administrative Areas, which would be further broken down into Local Electoral Areas (LEAs). This study should cater for relevant green indicators such as: public open green space in m^2 per population; tree canopy per population; public recreation municipal sports space in 'full-size pitches' per population; public allotment space in m^2 per population; and any other key 'green' indicators deemed relevant by the Parks Department Additional documents: Minutes: Action: Motion Agreed.
