December 2018 Motions

DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL

SOUTH CENTRAL AREA COMMITTEE

12th December 2018

668      Councillor Greg Kelly

That is Area Committee offers its full support to the Bluebell Community and all the staff in the Bluebell Community Centre. The break in and vandalism that happened in November was an attack in the community and will not be allowed to deter the great work done from the centre.

669      Cllr. Tina MacVeigh

That the Area Manager employ any available regulations or guidelines regarding appropriate shop front displays or advertising that could be employed by the area office to compel the adult entertainment shop on James St. to remove the obscene image which depicts a scantily clad woman in a wholly sexualised and sexist manner. Ireland has advanced in leaps and bounds towards a society that holds women and their rights in greater regard. This image is not appropriate.

670      Cllr. Greg Kelly

That this Area Committee calls for more regular cleaning of the gullies on Davitt Road. With the increase traffic on this road and the expected extra trucks using it the gullies will get blocked more often. The recent rain has shown that there is an issue with flooding occurring outside St John Bosco Youth Centre.
