September 2023 Motions

DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL

SOUTH CENTRAL AREA COMMITTEE

20th September 2023

M271   Councillor Máire Devine

This Committee express disbelief and dismay at the unacceptable snail’s pace of refurbishment at Donore Community Centre, D8. We have recently received a revised timeline of works that extend, yet again, the reopening date. 4 plus years is an unacceptable wait for the community who urgently require meantime dedicated spaces. This Committee instructs officials to source appropriate temporary space/buildings in the Donore area and fast track the process to allow groups/task forces gather again and deliver the much needed services for their fractured community.

M272   Councillor Daithí Doolan

The South Central Area Committee expresses deep concern at the negative impact the new proposed Garda roster will have on the policing service in our communities. We call on the Garda Commissioner to postpone their introduction on November 6th.
