January 2018 Motions DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL SOUTH CENTRAL AREA COMMITTEE 17th January 2018
567 Councillor Pat Dunne This Area Committee agrees that the small public park between the Crumlin Road and Old County Road be named Dingle Field or Dingle Park. This park, before being taken over by DCC Parks Section, was the site of a family farm owned by the Dingle family. Local descendants of this family report that the family were involved in the land league and that the farmstead was visited by Charles Steward Parnell. Given the history and the longevity of the Dingle family connection with the field, this Area Committee agrees to acknowledge the connection with naming the park after the Dingle family.
568 Councillor Greg Kelly That this Area Committee takes the opportunity to wish St Patrick's Athletic FC all the best for the forthcoming season. With the season starting on the 16th February against the current League Champions at Richmond Park we would encourage all football fans in the Dublin South Central area to make the effort to support their local National League team and cheer the Saints on to success. We look forward to seeing the club both successful on and off the field and hope to see the Area Offices working much closer with the club in the future.
