Emergency Motions

           Standing orders was suspended to deal with the following Emergency             

            motions: -

 

Emergency Motion from Councillors Tina MacVeigh and Cllr. Pat Dunne

Noting:-

- the historical significance of Kilmainham Mill

- the current state of disrepair the Mill has fallen into in private ownership

- the current zonings of Kilmainham Mill site and surrounds of Z1, Z2, Z4 and Z6 which allow for residential, enterprise and employment creation, and residential but not heritage conservation

- the imminent development on the site

 

Acknowledging:

- the grassroots community campaign and ground swell of support for preserving the heritage of Kilmainham Mill

- an endangerment notice recently issued by Dublin City Council

 

This Area Committee agrees:

- to immediately initiate the process for a material alteration to the development plan to rezone the site of Kilmainham Mill and surrounding outbuildings to Z8: to protect the existing architectural and civic design character, and to allow only for limited expansion consistent with the conservation objective.

Order: Agreed.  Report to councillors. It was agreed to refer this motion to the Lord Mayor and the Planning International Relations & Property Development SPC.

 

Emergency motion from Cllr Hazel De Nortúin and Cllr. Greg Kelly

This Area Committee, given the rise in anti social behaviour in Bluebell requests that;

 

- The Parks department in DCC  inspect the playground in Bluebell, given the recent fires that took place last weekend, with the aim to cost the damage done.

 

- will work to repair any damage that was done as soon as possible.

 

- and that this committee also request that there be an immediate Interagency intervention using all resources available with a long term plan for the Bluebell area.

556      Councillor Daithí Doolan

That Dublin City Council will actively investigate buying the empty lot in Raheen Park.
It has been the cause of serious health and safety issues to the public and needs to be properly managed.

557      Councillor Paul Hand

That this Area Committee request that the Christmas night Luas run along the red line again this year. Additionally we request that the service be similar to the green line service in the interests of equity and fairness.

 

558      Councillor Pat Dunne

To ask the Area Manager and our Community Development Section to give every assistance to the Masamba Samba School in the search for a new premises in Dublin 8. The band and dance group are been forced out of their current premises in Bow Lane West by the landlords because they can get a higher rent from a new tenant.
