Deferred Motions from the October Area Committee Meeting

447      Councillor Michael Mullooly’s Deferred Motion

This Area Committee calls on the Area Manager or a delegated member of his staff to visit and report to this Committee on the potential for improvement, maintenance, condition of Poddle Park (the green area across from the KCR along the Poddle River). This little park has significant potential but it is poorly maintained and because of this attracts illegal dumping and anti-social activity.

November Motions

459      Councillor Tina Mac Veigh

This Area Committee agrees that, in preparation for the Ceannt Fort Estate Centenary Celebrations in 2017, a schedule of works will be carried out as follows: Entrance wall pointing, signage, lamp post, railing and footpath painting and renovation, marking out car parking spaces in upper and lower car parks; public drainage; regular maintenance of public spaces (inc new playground area); street signage. The Area Office will meet representatives of the Ceannt Fort Residents Association to discuss the above renovations and in addition to provide them with guidance on entrance signage that incorporates direction within the estate and short bilingual history.

460      Councillor Críona Ní Dhálaigh

That this Area Committee views with concern the manner in which Nicolas and Myra Carmen's Hall Community Centre was converted into a homeless hostel.

461      Councillor Paul Hand

That this Area Committee supports the full and complete restoration of the Christmas Night Luas on the Red line and requests that Luas management take steps to ensure the same service is provided on the Red Line and the Green Line this Christmas. To this end we request that this motion be forwarded to Luas management for consideration.
