To ask that this Area Committee support putting in place connections with local groups and the new North City Recycling Centre to reduce the amount of items ending up in landfill and incineration.  An example of this would be that the local men’s shed who carry out a lot of wood & metal work for local organisations could avail of waste materials in the Recycling Centre, hardwoods are in great demand by the group and are costly to purchase.  This partnership and other partnerships with local groups would reduce their costs and DCC costs by reusing these materials.
