To ask the Manager to develop a design template and guidelines for new developments in Finglas Village to ensure that new developments are well designed, pleasing to the eye and there is some level of overall consistency in design in the village.

Motion in the name of Councillor Keith Connolly

That this committee calls on Dublin City Council to seek a solution to the amount of illegally parked cars in Finglas Village on a daily basis. A number of locations are highlighted below:

a)    McKee Avenue

b)    Public Road (behind Dick McKee Statue)

c)    Main Street (outside Riordan’s)

That the Council look at moving the Ballymun Library from its current position to the centre of Ballymun for maximum usage.  It could be part of the community gain on the Shopping centre site and that the current location site of the Library is transferred for sporting and cultural use.

Given the importance of the Ballymun Shopping centre site to the Development of the Ballymun Town Centre that detailed plans are drawn up as soon as possible to market this land and to give residents some indication of what will go there.
