Motion 1 from Councillor Dermot Lacey

This committee requests an update on the flood protection works planned for Beach Road/Strand Road, Sandymount.

Order: Report to councillor.

 

Motion 2 from Councillor Mary Freehill

That the Parks Department and DSE LAC office establish a working group of local councillors, residents from Greenlea and Lakelands whose homes back on to the City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB) land in Terenure and also include residents of Templeogue Road, Rathdown, Olney and Fergus Road .  The purpose of this working group is to discuss boundary protection and parking implications in the event of Dublin City Council (DCC) taking over the management of these lands.  It is also agreed that meetings take place prior to DCC making any agreement with CDETB or preparation of a Part 8.

Order: Motion amended to include sports groups in working group.  Agreed as amended.

 

Motion 3 from Councillor Dermot Lacey

This committee agrees to upgrade the footpath along the stretch of Morehampton Road between the junction of Herbert Park / Marlborough Road up as far as the junction with Mount Eden Road which is now one of the most intensely used sections of Donnybrook village.

Motion 4 from Councillor Dermot Lacey

This committee asks the manager to conduct an audit of residents of Heskin Court to ascertain the upgrade and maintenance needs so that they can be carried out in a comprehensive manner.  At present, this councillor (and possibly other councillors) receives complaints on a weekly basis from residents re the overall maintenance of the complex and this is not the best way to have the works ascertained and completed.

Motion 5 from Councillor Chris Andrews

That given the significance of the Poolbeg Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) this area committee requests the manager to have the plans displayed in St. Andrew’s Resource Centre as well as the Docklands Office and Ringsend / Irishtown Community Centres as part of community consultation.

Motion 6 from Councillor Dermot Lacey

This committee agrees to ask the manager if she would arrange to have the possibility of Dodder Action being given use of the former waste depot at the rear of Pembroke Cottages, Donnybrook for use as their storage area for their Dodder cleansing equipment examined and arrange to meet with their representatives to discuss this.

Order: Motion amended to agree to use of the depot by Dodder Action on a short-term basis. Agreed as amended.

 

Motion 7 from Councillor Chris Andrews

That this area committee agrees that the taking down of any railings around Ringsend Park will not be started until such time as there is extensive community engagement around the issue and there is clear understanding of the implications for removal before the work of removal starts and acknowledges the petition presented with this motion by residents.
