April 2025 Motions DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL SOUTH CENTRAL AREA COMMITTEE 16th April, 2025
M070 Councillor Ciaran O Meachair This Area Committee believes there has been a noticeable increase in waste gathering and rubbish dumping in Ash Grove, The Coombe, Dublin 8. This Area Committee requests that Ash Grove be inspected for rubbish by Dublin City Council on a more frequent basis, that rubbish be removed where necessary, that the area is power washed where necessary and that persistent rubbish dumpers are held to account by Dublin City Council.
M071 Councillor Ciaran O Meachair This Area Committee supports the maintenance and preservation of any green and white Cló Gaelach road signs that remain in the South Central Area and does not believe any more should be permanently removed.
M072 Councillor Ciaran O Meachair This Area Committee welcomes the commitment of Dublin City Council to take control of the Quaker Burial Ground on Cork Street. This Area Committee requests a timeframe for when conservation work will take place be published. Furthermore this Area Committee notes proposals to use the building on site (owned by the HSE) to be used as housing and calls for Dublin City Council to cooperate with other relevant parties to ensure this happens.
M073 Councillor Vincent Jackson That Dublin City Council acknowledges the huge amount of development coming to the Bluebell Area of Dublin 12 and needs of this area in relation to looking for services other areas take for granted such as Doctors surgery, expanded children’s and youth services, proper traffic management, policing, education provision, retail etc. We need DCC to become a strong advocate for the area. People are tired here and need community development staff based in the area.
