Lord Mayor's Item

Minutes:

The Lord Mayor informed the Council that it is proposed to confer the Freedom of the City on Jim Gavin in recognition of his contribution to Dublin football over the years. 

The following resolution was then moved by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Paul McAuliffe and seconded by Councillor Daithí de Róiste “That Dublin City Council hereby resolves that the Honorary Freedom of the City of Dublin be conferred on Jim Gavin and that his name be inscribed on the Roll of Honorary Freedom of Dublin, pursuant to the provisions of Section 74 of the Local Government Act, 2001, in recognition of his enormous contribution to the City of Dublin in relation to Sport and Service in Public Life.

 

The motion was agreed by the City Council.

Minutes:

It was proposed by Councillor Vincent Jackson and seconded by Councillor Deirdre Heney that “Dublin City Council notes the contents of Report No. 269/2019”. The motion was put and carried.

Report No. 229-2019 - Draft Budget Strategy for Financial Year 2020 in compliance with the Local Government (Financial and Audit Procedures) Regulations 2014 pdf icon PDF 954 KB

It was proposed by Councillor Vincent Jackson and seconded by Councillor Deirdre Heney that “Dublin City Council notes the contents of Report No. 229/2019”. The motion was put and carried.

Report No. 268-2019 - Consideration of the Local Property Tax Local Adjustment Factor in respect of the financial year 2020 pdf icon PDF 1 MB

It was proposed by Councillor Mary Fitzpatrick and seconded by Councillor Deirdre Heney “That Dublin City Council determines, in accordance of the provisions of Section 20 of the Finance (Local Property Tax) Act 2012 (as amended), that the basic rate of local property tax should be varied downwards by 15% for 2020 in respect of relevant residential properties situated in the administrative area of Dublin City Council.”  The motion was put to a vote and carried.  Full details of this vote are in Appendix A.  All other amendments were then deemed to have fallen.
