The following Emergency Motion to the Area Manager was tabled:

 

Emergency motion in the name of Councillor Ray McAdam

 

That this Area Committee seeks a commitment from the Waste Management Section that the Bring Centre in Grangegorman is not closed until a satisfactory alternative local site within Dublin 7 is secured and the existing facilities can be relocated there. 

 

ORDER:  Agreed.

 

 

The following motions to the Area Managers were tabled.

 

           

Item 1 

Motion in the name of Councillor Christy Burke

 

That this Central Area Committee agrees that senior Traffic Department personnel agree to meet residents from Castleforbes Road regarding HGV and large traffic volumes on the road over the last 2 years.

 

ORDER:  Agreed.

 

Item 2

Motion in the name of Councillor Declan Meenagh

 

That this Central Area Committee

-       Notes the urgent need for traffic calming outside Cabra Community College on Kilkieran Road.

-       Notes the delay in safe school zones and that this could take many years.

-          Calls on the Traffic and Transport department to introduce temporary measures such as bollards outside the main school entrance.

-          Calls for a safe pedestrian crossing to be added at the school.

-          Calls for other traffic calming measures on the road.

 

ORDER:  Agreed.

 

Item 3

Motion in the name of Councillor Joe Costello

 

That this Central Area Committee request the Area Manager put in place a salting/gritting programme for footpaths in the Central Area.

 

ORDER:  Agreed.

 

Item 4

Motion in the name of Councillor Joe Costello

 

That this Committee agree to request the Taoiseach to extend the remit of the NEIC to include East Wall.
