Approval of Councillor attendance at the following Conferences:

·         Celtic Conference: "Health Service Entitlements". 13th -15th December 2024 in O’Donovan’s Hotel, Clonakilty, County Cork. (Retrospective Approval).

 

·         Celtic Conference: "The Finance Act 2024". 10th - 12th January 2025 in McKevitt's Hotel, Carlingford, County Louth.

Establishment of Standing Orders Working Group

Minutes:

Order: Establishment of Standing Orders Working Group approved. Councillors Dermot Lacey, Ray McAdam, Ray Cunningham, Anthony Connaghan and Mannix Flynn were appointed as members.

6.

Manager's Report

Minutes:

The Manager reported on the following issues:

 

·         The 2025 Councillor Training Programme will be presented to the Protocol Committee in January 2025.

 

·         The City Hall Committee will meet in Q1 of 2025 when the new senior management team is in place in the CRES Department.

 

·         The Chief Executives Department will be holding a workshop on 19th December on Councillor Remuneration and Expenses.

 

·         The Councillor Portal in continuing to be trialled in the Central Area in January.

 

·         Issues with IT in the Council Chamber are being investigated. As it is a new system there will be challenges but the Chief Executive’s Office is liaising with SKS Communications to resolve the problems.

 

·         The role of the Deputy Lord Mayor could be included in the review of standing orders.

The Members wished to convey their sincere thanks to Deputy Lord Mayor Donna Cooney for the way she took on the responsibilities and duties of the Lord Mayor following the election of Cllr. James Geoghegan to Dáil Éireann.
