That Dublin City Council will support World Sepsis Awareness Day on the 13th of September by arranging for public buildings to be illuminated in the colour Magenta.”

Cllr Deirdre Heney moved the motion as Cllr Paul McAuliffe was not in attendance.  The motion was agreed.

Report on the Chains of the Lord Mayors Office pdf icon PDF 579 KB

Minutes:

Members expressed concern that the report states that the replica Clancy chain is worn by the Deputy Lord Mayor. It was agreed to amend the report. 

 

A discussion took place on whether it is appropriate for the Lord Mayor / Deputy Lord Mayor to wear a chain of office at all events.  It was agreed that the Lord Mayor badge would be more appropriate in certain situations.

7.

Public Participation Network and Strategic Policy Committee Representation

Minutes:

D. Ní Raghallaigh reminded members that the PPN have an important role in SPC membership and may request an increased representation on SPCs when the new Council is formed. 

 

Members requested a report on the PPN to include Department guidelines and an outline of the current situation.

 

8.

Mansion House - Disability Access

Minutes:

D. Ní Raghallaigh informed members that a disability linkage group from the PPN have chosen their preferred option for access to the Mansion House.  This option involves putting a ramp through the garden in front of Fire Restaurant.  Members requested a drawing of the proposed ramp.  It was agreed to include the matter on the South East Area Committee Agenda at design stage.

 

 

9.

Managers Report

Minutes:

D. Ní Raghallaigh suggested that the period from 14th June to 14th July would be used for works to take place at the Mansion House.  Members agreed on this time period.

 

Councillors to receive a list of meetings likely to take place in the first month after the election.

 

D. Ní Raghallaigh reminded members that the first meeting of the new Council would take place 14 days after the election count on Friday 7th June.  Members sought clarification on the 14 day period asking if the meeting has to be held by the 14th day meaning it could be held earlier. 

10.

A.O.B.

Minutes:

Members requested a copy of the exact wording proposed for the Flanders memorial in the Peace Garden.  It was agreed to circulate this to the South East Area Councillors.
