Darndale Social & Economic Update Minutes: Order: Derek Farrell gave update on behalf of Dympna McCann. Superintendent Barry asked was there any progression with CCTV. Derek advised that they are currently in the process of looking for funding for upgrading of three cameras. Agreed for Gardai & Dublin City Council to link in with this process and for this item to be kept on the Agenda.

Minutes: Order: An Garda Siochana discussed the statistics for the DMR North. Superintendent Barry omitted to submit 3 incidents on Animal Welfare.
A New domestic violence unit has been established in Coolock as part of Operation Faoiseamh as well as Operation Tombola which was launched to deal with firework fines to ensure safety this Halloween. Chief Superintendent Curran advised that generally crime is down but gradually getting higher. Divisional Youth rewards took place in September which was very successful. Councillor O’Toole commended the Drug unit in apprehending and bringing to the courts a number of individuals in the local area. Councillor O’Toole also requested that the Darndale clinic be more advertised through social media. Derek advised that Dympna McCann would organise this and notify all Councillors. Councillor Heney congratulated and thanked the area office, Derek, Bernie & An Garda Siochana on work that has been done on Lein gardens. Councillor Roe requested a Garda presence around Shanowen Road/Ave regarding dangerous parking, Gardaí to send team down & contact student union to brief students that cars will be towed & fines issued. Gardaí are aware of issues in St. Anne’s & Fairview park & have met with park ranger regarding CCTV.

Halloween Update Minutes: Order: Derek Farrell gave update. Superintendent Barry requested to know locations of four solar light shows & requested Waste Management and public domain work to a later time to ensure less materials for bonfire on Halloween night. Councillor MacDonncha advised that KCCP are ready to assist on the night in any way they can. Councillor Barron stated that it wasn’t good enough to hear of four solar light shows on this forum especially for Gardaí more of a communication strategy is needed for future events. Requested public domain contract business in Newtown Industrial estate to remind them of their obligations & fines involved in dumping tyres/pallets etc.
