The following issues were raised and a response was given by members of An Garda Síochána present at the meeting: - · Level of youth disorder in the Cherry Orchard Area · Management of shops in the Ballyfermot area · Increase in burglaries in the Walkinstown area · Lighting of bonfires at the green space at Kells Road/Leighlan Road · Operation Tombola · Request to include the new Weaver Park on patrols so that any level of antisocial behaviour is kept at bay · Garda numbers in South West Inner City · Aggressive begging in Thomas Street, James Street, at the 2 churches, the Spar shop and Tesco · Request that the enforcement of illegal parking on the bus lane and cycle lane at the Lidl Shop in Cork Street and the Spar shop at the junction of Crumlin Road and South Circular Road be continued.

Actions agreed at May Meeting:- a) The members requested that Parking Enforcement of the Traffic Control Section investigate the continual illegal parking along the Cork Street and Dolphin’s Barn area, paying particular attention to the illegal parking of cars on the bicycle lane at Lidle on Cork Street, and the illegal parking causing obstruction at Spar Shop at Dolphin’s Barn area. Action: -The Parking Enforcement Section of DCC undertook an initiative, week beginning of 5th of June that ran for one week.
b) The members requested a presentation on Community Impact Statements Pilot Scheme for the next JPC Meeting in September. Action: -Listed on this month’s Agenda.
Minutes: Correspondence was received from the Chairperson of the Canal Communities LPF in connection with the request to incorporate Basin Street into their Local Policing Forum. Action: Report requested for the next meeting in November.
