Minutes of meeting held on 14th March 2017 PDF 238 KB Minutes: Agreed. Councillor Daithí De Róiste, Chairperson, welcomed Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll to the meeting. He has temporarily assumed the duties of outgoing Assistant Commissioner Jack Nolan (retired). However it is expected that a permanent Assistant Commissioner for the area will be appointed in the coming week. |

Community CCTV Minutes: Noted. On 13th April 2017 the Tánaiste & Minister for Justice and Equality, Frances Fitzgerald T.D. announced a new grant aid scheme for community-based CCTV systems. Under the scheme, eligible community groups may apply for grant-aid of up to 60% of the total capital cost of a proposed CCTV system, up to a maximum grant of €40,000. A total of €1million is available nationally; scheme will run for 3 years with funding of €1 million available each year. Action: Copy of correspondence to be forward to Chairpersons of Joint Policing Subcommittees (circulated 24/05)

Report of Assistant Chief Executive, DCC (Report to follow) Minutes: Order: Report noted Webcasting: This issue was last discussed at the January 2016 meeting, with a decision taken not to webcast the meetings. However a commitment was give to review this at a later date. Following a lengthy discussion on the subject it was decided to defer a decision on this to the July meeting. Action: Webcasting of meetings to be listed on July agenda for decision.

A.O.B. Minutes: ØAt the April meeting of the Dublin City Council, there was a discussion around Garda statistics. Following on from this the Chairperson contacted the Garda Commissioner on behalf of the Dublin City Joint Policing Committee (06/04) emphasising the reliance of the JPC’s on statistics and seeking reassurance of their accuracy.
ØUpdate on Housing Act requested, with particular reference to evictions, requested for next meeting. Action: Michael Clarke, Housing and Community Services to attend next meeting to provide update.
