European Programme Support Office & International Relations - Ciara O'hAodha, Head of EPSO (20 minutes)

Ciara O’hAodha updated Members. The Chair thanked the Presenter and opened the floor to questions and answers. Updated noted. Questions addressed.

Action: Ciara O’hAodha agreed to provide Cllr. Freehill with copy of SPC presentation that was not included in the Modgov pack and to provide Cllr. Freehill with further details on European Funding Application Overview.  Ciara O’hAodha agreed to prepare comparison for Members on unsuccessful applications and evaluation process and submit at next EDE SPC meeting.  Ciara O’hAodha agreed to arrange a separate briefing/workshop for Members on regional impact and regional connection to European Funding.  Cllr. Freehill proposed that in light of no response to date, a reminder letter should issue to the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform seeking meeting with Members regarding DCC’s submission to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.  Chair agreed to this.

Action:  Mary MacSweeney to raise with Secretariat the need to connect the Eastern Regional Midlands Assembly (ERMA) with the DBEC Political Advisory Group, and seek to possibly have the EMRA attend next meeting to be hosted by DCU.

Action: Cllr. O’Driscoll and Cllr. Cooney requested further information on the appointment of the Night Time Economy Advisor and the Night Time Economy Plans.  Mary MacSweeney suggested that the Night Time Economy Advisor and pilot plans be tabled as possible agenda item for the April meeting of the EDE SPC.
