January 2020 Motions DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL SOUTH CENTRAL AREA COMMITTEE 15th January 2020
M.31 Councillor Daithí Doolan This Area Committee condemns the vandalism to 3 sports pitches in Drimnagh over Christmas. These pitches provide essential recreational facilities to the local community. Dublin City Council will work to repair the damage as soon as possible.
M.32 Councillor Vincent Jackson That the Director of Services please indicate what action if any DCC will / can take to support community groups who are now finding it almost impossible to get public liability insurance for facilities such as Youth Centres, Community Halls etc. If your centre is run by DCC you don`t have the constant worry. However, many facilities built by the local authorities / Government Departments are finding the constant increases impossible to cover from existing resources. It is not too far away facilities will close if something is not done to address same.
M.33 Councillor Daithí Doolan This Area Committee will work with the Gardaí and emergency services in implementing a public awareness campaign in 2020 highlighting the dangers to health and safety when buying quads or scramblers for young people at Christmas.
