January 2023 Motions DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL SOUTH CENTRAL AREA COMMITTEE 18th January 2023
M220 Councillor Deirdre Cronin Withdrawn.
M221 Councillor Deirdre Cronin Withdrawn.
M222 Councillors Máire Devine and Darragh Moriarty This Committee welcomes the establishment of the Advisory Group for the old Inchicore Library and will support them in their deliberations and subsequent proposals for the future use of this iconic building. We ask that: · They be provided with an up-to-date building inspection report; · A site visit be arranged for the group and local Councillors; · That immediate short-term works be carried out so that the group’s meetings can be facilitated on site; · That the group be assured that finance for long-term refurbishment and necessary mobility infrastructure is available and ring-fenced; · The community audit carried out some months ago, as part of the Emmet Road consultation process, with regards to local community, arts and cultural needs be made available to the Advisory Group so it can be updated and further inform the needs of the area.
M223 Councillor Hazel de Nortiún This Area Committee agrees to engage with residents regarding the green space on Drumfinn Road facing the Garda Station. The Committee will request that the Ballyfermot Community Development team will begin a consultation piece with residents to see how the space can be better utilised. There's been a few requests for different ideas and uses for that space and it does seem to be underutilised.
