To ask that the middle meridian of the Ballymun Road be developed as a Biodiversity hot spot.  As we are in the middle of a Biodiversity crisis, we need to take a proactive approach to increasing our biodiversity, through tree planting, pollinator friendly plants, SUDS, etc. which will all help us to cope with our changing weather patterns.  The benefits include improved air quality, provide shade, increased pollinators and corridors for the movement of wildlife within the City.  It will also improve the look and feel of the area.

That this Area Committee expresses concern regarding the parking situation in Ballymun Town Centre. There is illegal parking taking place in several locations from the Aspen building, the Swimming Pool and Gateway Crescent. There is no parking provided for at the student accommodation who are now parking in Balcurris Gardens using the resident’s spots and on footpaths around the vicinity. There needs to be a parking review done of the whole area to identify problems and produce workable solutions for all involved.

That all Housing Voids are advertised through Choice Based lettings for the next 6 months in a bid to improve efficiencies. The CBL has been hugely successful in the eyes of the public as it is a very transparent process and people can see the turnaround in housing stock.
