DCC remove containers when they are reported as “hazardous waste” but in many cases, this takes time, meaning a prolonged public safety hazard. The NWAC requests that clear information is issued to the public about how to report dumped N2O containers on social media channels and by other means as appropriate. The NWAC also resolves to support the dissemination of information on the potential harm associated with N2O abuse in partnership with local stakeholders (LDATFs, Youth Services, etc.) as carried out by STAR in Ballymun with support from DCC. resulted in a significant amount of illegal dumping of these pressurised containers.
