Motion in the name of Councillor Caroline Conroy

To ask the Manager to change the requirement by DCC to provide compostable cups etc and to ask cafes who are offering a seating area to serve their food & drinks in/on reusable (real) cups & dishes & cutlery.  The amount of items ending up in general waste is shocking.  They provide compostable cups, plates and wooden cutlery on the insistence of DCC but these items do not end up in the appropriate bin.  These compostable items need to be composted and when they are not they cause more problems when it ends up in general waste by creating worse gases in landfill.
