22.

Motion in the name of Councillor Noeleen Reilly

That the Manager completes a number of actions in the Griffith Heights Estate due to a number of Security Concerns:

1.    Complete the Pyrite Works in the Community Centre and the footpaths entering the Senior Citizens complex.  The gates currently cannot be locked and this has led to a number of undesirables gaining access to the estate and to back of people’s homes.

2.    To look at the landscape in the Senior Citizens complex and the back of houses as the trees may be assisting those trying to get access to the homes.

3.    To look at the wall surrounding the estate and if possible improvements works can take place to stop people climbing over the wall.

4.    To look at the access from the hill up from the Premier Square apartments and again see if access can be restricted

23.

Motion in the name of Councillor Noeleen Reilly

That the Manager completes necessary works needed in Shangan Avenue and Shangan Gardens to deal with the sewage problems.  This has been a consistent problem for a number of years and residents have to consistently deal with the smell of raw sewage in their homes.

24.

Motion in the name of Councillor Andrew Montague

That the City Council carry out some improvement works, working with the residents’ Association, in Ellenfield Park:

1.    Remove the undergrowth from around the trees as residents feel that this is providing cover to thieves in the area. There has been a series of burglaries in recent months and people feel their houses are being watched from within the park

2.    Trim the trees that are growing out over the railings on Ellenfield Road. Some trees are growing right across the road

3.    Sweep up around the perimeter of the park to remove the leaves and litter that has gathered

4.    Fence/hoard off the waste material that is dumped at the wall with Margaret Aylward school. This waste material is at one of the entrances to the park and gives the park a bad appearance as you walk in.

5.    Upgrade the play equipment in the park. The equipment is very old and beginning to show signs of wear and tear.

25.

Motion in the name of Councillor Norma Sammon

That Dublin Council compulsorily purchase the Land Locked plot at Cedarwood Grove/Willow Park Crescent or otherwise acquire the plot in question and loan/lease or let the plot to the residents group for the use of it by all adjoining properties as a community garden. The plot in question is no longer in the ownership of Grafton Construction.
