Cabra Area Office Report, Fergus Synnott, Administrative officer |
|
Motion in the name of Councillor Cieran Perry This committee calls on the Traffic Department to immediately revert to the original pre-27th March 2018 parking system in Dalcassian Downs.
It appears that an individual resident complained about the parking situation and despite the vast majority of residents being happy with the setup, DCC implemented the current system. The residents have acknowledged that on rare occasions traffic would be impeded but that an alternative route was always available. I also understand that no complaints have been received from the emergency services.
I understand that when DCC are made aware of an issue they must be seen to investigate but in this case the actions of DCC has the potential to alienate the majority of residents, particularly as the same residents had agreed a pay & display system less than three years ago.

Oscar Traynor Update, Connell McGlynn, Project Officer |

Motion in the name of Councillor Noeleen Reilly That the Manager looks at securing Coultry Park from Scramblers and Quad Bikes by the use of bollards or fences. At present parents feel it is unsafe to allow their children into the park due to the misuse of these bikes. With the new playground equipment going in this summer it is important that families feel safe in the park and that it gets maximum use. All present measures are not stopping these vehicles from entering the park and causing damage to current facilities. |

Motion in the name of Councillor Norma Sammon To address the outstanding issues in Seven Oaks as a matter of urgency. Residents have been waiting for shrubbery, pruning and general maintenance of the estate for some time. To organise an official from Parks to meet the residents as soon as possible to make sure the process is started.

Motion in the name of Councillor Norma Sammon To investigate the absence of the amendment to pg 12/13 of the Oscar Traynor Road Report as per the January 2017 Council motion which added the following (in bold):
Dublin City Council has recently met with residents of Lorcan Estate and public representatives from the North West and North Central Area. It is proposed to put in place a Local Consultative Forum to ensure that there is fair and ongoing engagement and consultation with Community Interests in the area. The exact consultation structure can be agreed between the Area Committee and the local Area Manager and his team but will include representatives of Lorcan Estate, Castletimon Estate, Woodlawn Estate, Aulden Grange Estate, Santry Court Estate and Gaelscoil Cholmcille. This forum will be consulted by those drawing up the statutory Master Plan
The absence of the amendment in the report online is misleading particularly in circumstances where the contracts have gone out to tender and appears to be based solely on the older 2015 plan. It is essential to residents and to the proper functioning of the planning process that this particular amendment is highlighted and acknowledged before any contract is awarded and that prospective developers are made fully aware of the existence of the Consultative Forum and its function in working with the chosen developer in the creation of a New Master Plan.
Could the manager also investigate by whose authority was the amendment removed from the e-tender documents along with any mention of the Consultative Forum, contrary to the unanimous vote of the Councillors on 9th Jan 2017.
