Motion in the name of Councillor Cieran Perry
This committee calls on Waste Management to remove the Bottlebank on Carnlough Road in Cabra. It’s a disappointment to have to request the removal of an environmentally friendly facility but it’s clear that Waste Management cannot ensure the proper maintenance of this site. Regular illegal dumping occurs with little or no sanction. The neighbouring residents have been extremely patient over a number of years regarding the ongoing issues with the site. The lack of an effective response to the illegal dumping at this site was demonstrated recently when it was confirmed that the temporary CCTV installed was mounted in the wrong location for 3 months and resulted in no fines being issued.

Motion in the name of Councillor Teresa keegan That the Manager engage with the City Council and/or Dublin bus to improve linkages between Finglas South/Tolka Valley Park and Broombridge Train Station before the new Luas line commences operation in order to improve safety through adequate lighting and walkways and promote the use of public transport in the North-West Area.

Motion in the names of Councillors Anthony Connaghan and David Costello That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to begin the process of re-locating the services (Novas Institute and DePaul) currently being run on the Kildonan Lands (Abigail Centre). The Development Group has had a previous presentation from Planners
BradyShipman Martin and it is clear that the current building which houses the aforementioned services is a stumbling block to the efficient development of the Kildonan Lands. By relocating the services, the lands can be opened up to more efficient use which could lead to an increase in the amount of housing units developed on the site.
Motion in the name of David Costello That this Committee requests that the Housing Department during any potential negotiation with the Church of Annunciation/Dublin Dioceses in relation to the procurement of land gives full consideration to working with the HSE, who are also interested in using a portion of the land to build a Primary Care Centre.

Motion in the name of Councillor Andrew Keegan That the North West Area Committee redefine the make-up of the forum and extend the right of representation to the Community Forum allowing the areas of Santry, Beaumount and the Oaks and any community organisation have an input from their local communities impacted by the Oscar Traynor Road development. It must be noted that the forum, presently constructed was not discussed and is distinctly undemocratic.

Ballymun Area Office Report, Mary Taylor, Assistant Area Manager PDF 352 KB |
Motion in the name of Councillors Noeleen Reilly and Paul McAuliffe That the Area Office look at putting some of the vacant land in Ballymun on the Market to attract expressions of Interest for Job Creation.
Motion in the name of Councillor Noeleen Reilly That the Manager looks at closing off the road at the top of Crannogue Terrace. This was originally supposed to be a cul de sac. It is used as a sort cut for drivers and this has made the road very busy and dangerous. There are a large number of children living there and the houses are very close to the road adding increased danger.
Motion in the name of Councillor Janice Boylan, Central Area That the Manager looks at the strip of land in front of the Rediscovery Centre with a view to removing the hoarding and landscaping it. We have a brand new state of the art building and the hoarding is taking away from that.
Motion in the name of Councillor Greg Kelly, South Central Area That the Manager looks at finishing off the footpaths in Sillogue Gardens. There is just one small square left after works were started in the last two year.
Motion in the name of Councillor Larry O'Toole, North Central Area That the Manager prioritises ramps on Carrig Road between Knowth and Druid Court and gives a timeline when the ramps will be place. We have previously approved funding for them in recent years. There is a huge problem with car racing and scramblers on that road'.
