Motions 13.02.2023. PDF 333 KB Additional documents: Minutes: Motion 1 from Councillor Mary Freehill That this committee agrees to consider funding (discretionary fund) for the refurbishment of the boundary wall 23 yds long and 8 ft. high between Cathal Brugha Barracks and opposite 42 / 44 Mount Drummond Avenue, which is in a poor state of repair, dashing is falling off and a hazard for passing pedestrians. Members of the residents association would be prepared to take down falling dashing and leave the wall ready for repointing. They are asking the council to cover the cost of repointing the wall. The fact that residents are prepared to do this work would make it much less costly than if the council did the work themselves. Order: Report to Councillor.
Motion 2 from Councillors Dermot Lacey and Mary Freehill This committee requests the Chief Executive of Dublin City Council to seek a meeting with the Chief Executive of the City of Dublin Education & Training Board (CDETB) with a view to securing the restoration of the former Concert Hall, the conservation of Town Hall Clock in the Rathmines Town Hall and the acquisition of the former TU Dublin premises in Rathmines for the necessary additional rooms for Rathmines College and following that meeting to report to the area committee.
